Chef José Andrés will be a presenter at the Oscars

Chef José Andrés will be one of the presenters at the 2019 Oscars, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Wednesday.

Joining Andrés as a presenter are Dana Carvey, Queen Latifah, Congressman John Lewis, Diego Luna, Tom Morello, Mike Myers, Trevor Noah, Amandla Stenberg, Barbra Streisand and Serena Williams.

Andrés, the D.C. chef and philanthropist, has gained attention from around the globe for feeding people after natural disasters and even during last month’s government shutdown.

At last year’s Oscars, he joined a group of activists onstage during Andra Day and Common’s performance of “Stand Up for Something” from the film “Marshall.”

The 91st annual Academy Awards airs at 8 p.m. Sunday on ABC.
