5 D.C. stencils to help step up your jack-o-lantern game this year

Pumpkin carving is a great way to get into the Halloween spirit - at least until some punk comes and smashes your beautifully-crafted masterpiece. Still, we think it's a pretty worth-while endeavor so grab your knife and cut out the black or white parts of these stencils - which you can download here.

1. Donald Trump

It's undeniable that 45 has a certain orange-y hue to his skin, so putting his face on a pumpkin is a no-brainer. Faces are generally difficult to carve though so if this is above your skill level, you could easily just cut out a frowny face and throw a cheap toupee on the pumpkin to get the point across.

2. The Washington Monument

We're pretty sure anyone who's old enough to hold a knife can carve this one. If you want to get really fancy, you can even add some flags to the bottom or a lost-looking tourist.

3. Capitol Hill

If you're into the idea of putting a landmark on a pumpkin, The Hill is more technically challenging and you can experiment with negative space. Depending on your political persuasion, you can pop in a red or blue LED light too.

4. Fake Melania

If you're trying to keep current, Fake Melania is the way to go. The most important part is the huge sunglasses and mysterious-looking trench coat.

5. Joe Biden

Okay, we know Obama is the more obvious choice, but legend has it that if you carve Joe Biden's face into one side of the pumpkin and ice cream on the other, he'll fill your freezer with Ben & Jerry's.
