Meet Marcus Paige, a 2.5-year-old Greek Harehound who was actually born in Greece! Marcus Paige's mom so badly wanted a dog that when she started looking at condos she would only consider dog-friendly options, and when she finally closed on a condo in January 2017, her realtor gifted her with a dog bowl engraved with the name of her future pup, Marcus Paige (named for a former University of North Carolina basketball player), even though she didn't have the dog yet! Mom and pup finally found one another in the spring of 2017 thanks to the rescue group Homeward Trails and an Arlington couple who runs a Bicycle tour business leading bike tours all over the world, who rescued him from his life as a stray in Greece and brought him back to the states. His mom met and adopted him just a few days later. She has stayed in touch with the couple who saved him, and will now be paying it forward and serving as a dog flight escort on the way home from her vacation to Colombia. Marcus Paige is very attached to one specific ball -- a red and blue version of a Kong toy -- and has no interest in any other balls. He loves other dogs, and will sit down on the sidewalk when he sees one approaching and wait to greet it. He loves walks and rolling in the grass, but he is not a fan of sirens or rain If you're interested in having your pup featured, drop us a line at aandrade@dcrefined.com, but we do have quite the waiting list right now so we appreciate your patience!
