How riding in Lyft this Friday could win you festival tickets

There are many heated debates for which Washingtonians will go to their grave defending their position. Of course we have the obvious: are you a Republican or a Democrat? And then there are the more subtly nuanced battles we'll take up arms for: are you a Ben's Chili Bowl or a Jumbo Slice, a Chopt or a Sweetgreen, a Lyft or an Uber?

But on Friday, September 21 there is a solid, provable reason to choose Lyft over Uber no matter what side you typically fall on. Not only will your ride be free if you use a special promo code, but all Lyft riders will be eligible to win four tickets to Devil's Backbone's Hoopla Festival. Typically held in late September (Sept. 27-30 this year), it’s an opportunity to camp out at DB's Basecamp Brewpub & Meadows, while taking in four days of up-and-coming music, fresh beer, and outdoor games. It’s lowkey enough to bring children, and small enough to not feel overwhelmed by multiple stages of simultaneous music. This year's lineup includes Tyler Childers, Rayland Baxter, Andy Frasco, Larry Keel, Caamp, Ghost of Paul Revere, Sarah Shook & The Disarmers, Cris Jacobs Band, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, Front Country and more.

Riding in Lyft on Friday also gives you the chance to be one of the lucky few to camp all weekend for free in the decked out Hoopla Mobile, a super cool RV loaded with games, festival and hiking gear. To get us good and pumped, the Hoopla Mobile will be roaming the streets of D.C. during the day, and stationed at Wunder Garten from 4-9 p.m.
