The 10 best movies to help you get over your ex (ugh!)

There's the way you feel when you eat too much ice cream. There's the way you feel when you let a friend down. There's the way you feel when something doesn't go your way. And then there's the way you feel when you go through a breakup - like all of those things mashed together, and multiplied by a million.

The one thing we can tell you? It doesn't make it easier - but it also is weirdly comforting to know - you're not alone. People go through this every day of the year, and sometimes multiple times. GROAN.

So grab the Ben and Jerry's cuz we've compiled a list of the Best Go-To flicks to help you get over that relationship. On to the NEXT!

To the left, to the left - and all that jazz.

#1. "High Fidelity" (2000)

As record store owner Rob Gordon (John Cusack) narrates his ex-relationships with equal parts charm and self-loathing, you'll be reminded why relationships SUCK so much in the first place.

#2. "Thelma and Louise" (1991)

DUH. This is an obvious go-to. Let these heroines remind you who the most important relationship in your life is: your BESTIE.

#3. "Amelie" (2001)

In this darling French movie, Audrey Tatou plays an imaginative and mischievous waitress who decides to improve other peoples' lives. This flick will remind you that the world is still full of magic and a new beginning is just a choice away. You got this!

#4. "Heathers" (1988)

Murder, Mystery and 80's Fashion. Need we say more?

#5. "She Devil" (1989)

If you haven't seen this movie, you haven't lived. A maniacal Roseanne Barr with an angry mole gets the ultimate revenge after being treated horribly by her husband. Meryl Streep (who is in true comedic form), steals Roseanne's hubby and her life falls apart. It's brutal, evil, and demonstrative that hell hath no fury. A woman scorned is literally the most terrifying thing on earth.

#6. "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" (2008)

Yes, this is the one where Jason Segel gets naked and sings with puppets. Forced to get over his famous girlfriend (Kristen Bell)...he begs and pleads for her back, before finally realizing they were never meant to be. He finds true love with Mila Kunis. Killed it. So funny and really shows you that there's someone out there for everyone.

#7. "Legally Blonde" (2001)

I basically feel like this movie is for EVERY occasion, and a breakup is no exception. The takeaway from Legally Blonde: the best revenge is busting your a** to challenge yourself, meeting your goals, exploring new ventures, and not changing who you are in the process. Plus, who doesn't need a refresher course in the Bend and Snap??

#8. "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" (1998)

This tale of a middle-aged divorcée (Angela Bassett) who - you guessed it - gets her groove back, is the kind of movie that will convince you that sometimes the grass really is greener on the other side. Plus, Taye Diggs.

#9. "Beaches" (1988)

Because sometimes a good cry is in order.

#10. Swingers (1996)

It's all about getting back into the 'swing' of things after a break-up!

Did we miss any? Shoot us a note!
