With messy weather expected this weekend, timing will be everything if you want to catch the cherry blossoms in peak bloom.
“Friday may be the best opportunity to see them this year,” said Mike Litterst, who is a spokesman for the National Park Service.
The National Park Service expects a big crowd Friday.
“It’s a bucket list sort of thing, you’ve absolutely got to see the cherry blossoms in peak bloom, but pack your patience,” Litterst said.
“It is beautiful right now, especially around the Jefferson Memorial,” said Jim Cordero, who brought a group of students, from California, to see the cherry blossoms.
The National Park Service recommends using public transportation to get to the Tidal Basin on Friday.
