Peak bloom prediction announced for 2018 National Cherry Blossom Festival

March may have just started but it is already time to start thinking about D.C.'s Cherry Blossom Festival.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, Acting Superintendent of the National Mall and Memorial Parks and National Park Service Karen Cucurullo, and Japanese Ambassador Kenichiro Sasae were all in attendance at the kickoff press conference for the 2018 National Cherry Blossom Festival at the Newseum.

They announced that predicted peak bloom for the flowers will go from March 17-20.

The festival will run from March 20-April 15 and all four weeks will include events that officials say will promote "traditional and contemporary arts and culture, natural beauty, and community spirit."
