Washington Capitals vs. San Jose Sharks: Rock your red and head to the Capital One Arena to cheer on the Washington Capitals as they take on the San Jose Sharks.

Zoolights at the National Zoo: Join the thousands of visitors who make ZooLights a part of their annual holiday tradition. A free event, ZooLights includes live music performances, tasty winter treats and plenty of opportunities for holiday shopping. More than 500,000 environmentally-friendly LED lights transform the Zoo into a winter wonderland complete with a dazzling light show set to music!

Tuesday, December 5

6th Annual Repeal Day bash at Jack Rose Dining Saloon: Tuesday, December 5th is Repeal Day (the 84th anniversary of when alcohol was made legal again by the 21st amendment, which repealed the 18th amendment) and Jack Rose Dining Saloon is hosting their 6th Annual Repeal Day bash complete with Prohibition-era cocktails and punches, 100+ year old whiskeys, a special speakeasy-style Dram & Grain, a Pappy Van Winkle-themed happy hour, bottomless bubbles, burlesque performances and more. The night kicks off with “The Pappy Hour" from 5-7:30 p.m. featuring discounts on the full Pappy Van Winkle line-up, and owner Bill Thomas will crack open several bottles of Prohibition-era whiskeys.

Celebrate Repeal Day at Truxton Inn: From 8 - 10 pm, Bar manager Brian Nixon will be teaming up with Old Forester, America's first bottled bourbon, in honor of Repeal Day. Complimentary food, prizes, along with $10 Old Fashioneds, Boulevardiers and Friscos will be offered.

The Second City's Twist Your Dickens at the Kennedy Center: Experience Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol like never before—with this holiday favorite from The Second City! The legendary comedy troupe brings its infamous improvisational skills and sketch comedy mastery to the timeless tale of Ebenezer Scrooge. 2017 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting: It's Christmas time in the District! This year's tree is an 80-foot tall Engellman spruce from Idaho and will go up in lights on Wednesday, December 6. The ceremony starts at 5 p.m.

DAR Christmas Open House: Go visit DAR Headquarters and get in the holiday spirit. Tour the DAR Museum, enjoy hot cocoa and cookies and music from carolers. You can even visit with Santa! This event is FREE and open to the public.

Cirque Dreams Holidaze at MGM National Harbor: Cirque Dreams Holidaze lights up the 2017 season with its 10th Anniversary National Tour. This critically-acclaimed holiday stage extravaganza is a cirque spectacle …Broadway musical…and family show all in one! Tickets start at $26; 8 p.m. show.
