Speed Rack's All-Female Bartending Competition: Speed Rack, the all-female bartending competition that raises money for breast cancer research is coming to Union Stage! With $700k raised for breast cancer charities to date, they have some amazingly talented female bartenders vying to win this year’s Mid Atlantic Speed Rack regional competition. Consumers will have the chance to sample a number of different punches and drinks from some of the best brands in the D.C. area. It’s a great event for cocktail connoisseurs to enjoy some cocktails, hob nob with the most talented bartenders in the area and raise a bit of $$ for their female friends and family members that have been touched by this horrible disease.

Ruinart Champagne Pairing Dinner at Brasserie Beck: The Belgium-inspired hotspot is hosting a bubbly bash, a Ruinart Champagne Pairing Dinner, from 6:30 – 10 p.m. The elegant evening affair, which pays homage to the world’s oldest established Champagne house in Champagne, France, delivers four carefully crafted courses, thoughtfully paired with different Ruinart Champagne varietals - including Ruinart Blanc de Blancs, Ruinart Rosé, and Dom Ruinart 2006. Patrons can savor delectable dishes - such as freshly caught, tender Pan Seared Scallops, accompanied by a zesty Red and Yellow Pepper Coulis, and finished off with an aromatic Aged Sherry Shallot Essence. The Champagne pairing dinner costs $150 per person and is exclusive of tax and gratuity.

Greek Spirit Festival at Zaytinya: The festival begins on March 19 and runs through Greek Independence Day, March 25. Throughout the festival, Zaytinya will honor Greek spirits with a nightly Mezze Hora in the bar (Monday-Friday, 5-6:30pm) and tastings of spirits like oak aged tsipouro (more on tastings and producers below). The team will also feature special cocktails such as the Tsipouro Sour (tsipouro, aquafaba, lime, orange blossom), The Mastiha Cooler (gin, mastiha, cucumber-mint, bitter lemon) and the O'Kerási (cherry-infused tsipouro, vermouth, bitters). The Greek Spirit tastings will take place from 5-6:30 p.m., schedule is as follows: Monday 3/19: Metaxa (a spirit made from a blend of brandy and wine made from Savatiano, Sultana and Black Corinth grape varieties) // Wednesday 3/21: Katsaros tsipouro from Katsaros Distillery and Dark Cave, an oak-aged tsipouro. // Friday 3/23: Ouzos from Plomari and Barbayanni; Idoniko tsipouro

60 Minute Gourmet Cooking Class at Pippin Hill Farm: Elevate the every day with tips and tricks to turn your weeknight dinner into a culinary masterpiece. Learn to use ingredients already in your kitchen to take your standard dinner to the next level. We’ll get inspired by the fresh bounty of our early spring harvest in our Kitchen Garden to make our meal. The class includes a hands-on cooking demonstration, dinner and 2 glasses of wine!
