Dante is a sweet six-year-old who has a great story to tell. This guy came to the Humane Rescue Alliance when a nice man found him as a stray. Dante was so nervous, that he rode on the man’s lap the entire car ride to the shelter.
After HRA’s Behavior team assessed Dante, they determined he would be a great candidate for the organization’s Prison Dog Program, a partnership with Patuxent Institution in Jessup, Md. Dante spent nine weeks living and being trained by two select inmate handlers. During his stay, Dante learned basic manners skills like sit, down, stay, come and leave-it. Now that he has graduated from the program, Dante is looking for a calm home where he will get endless belly rubs and nice long walks. Dante is a little older, but still has enough energy to keep his adopter busy. He would do best as the only dog in the home, and a home without children.
Come out and meet Dante today and help this deserving gentleman find a wonderful home. As an added bonus, if you're over the age of 50, Dante’s adoption fee is waived as part of our Boomer's Buddies program!
