Zillow released their annual Trick-or-Treat Index ranking the 20 Best Cities in the country for little trick-or-treaters, and D.C. was ranked as the 8th best city for trick or treating! Obviously they've never been over to Lamont Street or we most definitely would have been number one ;) (Image: File Photo)

These are the best D.C. neighborhoods to trick-or-treat

Zillow released their annual Trick-or-Treat Index ranking the 20 Best Cities in the country for little trick-or-treaters, and D.C. was ranked as the 8th best city for trick or treating! Obviously they've never been over to Lamont Street or we most definitely would have been number one ;)

But they even got more detailed, looking at which neighborhoods allowed kids to get their hands on the best candy, in the shortest amount of time.

Man, I would so have appreciated this knowledge as a crafty little kid trying to plot out the best Halloween routes -- clearly Zillow has its priorities in order!

The ranking uses three equally weighted variables:

  • Zillow’s Median Home Value. Bigger Home = Bigger Candy Cars
  • Housing Density. Hitting more homes, quicker
  • Population Under 10 years old. The amount of kids participating in festivities

With that in mind, here are the best neighborhoods to Trick or Treat in D.C. proper:

  1. Kent
  2. Bloomingdale
  3. Park View
  4. Berkley
  5. Near Northeast

Have to admit I wasn't too familiar with the "Berkley" hood, but it looks like it is the area that I thought was still considered Foxhall. Also, LOL to "Near Northeast." You couldn't be a little more specific Zillow??

If you're like me, and curious where else in the country has the best treats - take a look below! Looks like those Cali goods really clean up on Halloween!

  1. San Francisco, CA
  2. San Jose, CA
  3. Philadelphia, PA
  4. Long Beach, CA
  5. Los Angeles, CA
  6. Baltimore, MD
  7. Sacramento, CA
  8. Washington, D.C.
  9. Milwaukee, WI
  10. Seattle, WA

Happy Halloween, friends!
