Zillow released their annual Trick-or-Treat Index ranking the 20 Best Cities in the country for little trick-or-treaters, and D.C. was ranked as the 8th best city for trick or treating! Obviously they've never been over to Lamont Street or we most definitely would have been number one ;)
But they even got more detailed, looking at which neighborhoods allowed kids to get their hands on the best candy, in the shortest amount of time.
Man, I would so have appreciated this knowledge as a crafty little kid trying to plot out the best Halloween routes -- clearly Zillow has its priorities in order!
The ranking uses three equally weighted variables:
- Zillow’s Median Home Value. Bigger Home = Bigger Candy Cars
- Housing Density. Hitting more homes, quicker
- Population Under 10 years old. The amount of kids participating in festivities
With that in mind, here are the best neighborhoods to Trick or Treat in D.C. proper:
- Park View
- Near Northeast
Have to admit I wasn't too familiar with the "Berkley" hood, but it looks like it is the area that I thought was still considered Foxhall. Also, LOL to "Near Northeast." You couldn't be a little more specific Zillow??
If you're like me, and curious where else in the country has the best treats - take a look below! Looks like those Cali goods really clean up on Halloween!
