Thursday, February 8

Seeing Deeper: The Cosmic Mass: Never thought you'd see a rave in the nave of Washington National Cathedral? Think again. The Cosmic Mass was inspired by rave celebrations, but its roots go deeper: to the ancient world traditions of ecstatic sacred dance. Through dancing and moving meditation, triggered by powerful imagery and a DJ playing specially curated music, experience a unique experience of the divine. This special night of transcendental celebration is open to people of all faiths.

Drag Dinner at Captain Gregory's: Captain Gregory’s presents Captain Gregory’s Drag Dinner on Thursday, Feb. 8. Enjoy an intimate 45-minute drag show featuring the music of Tina Turner, Amy Winehouse, Beyoncé and Adele. The cost of $85 per person includes two cocktails and a two course dinner. Seating's are at 6:15 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.

Washington Wizards vs. Boston Celtics: Head to the Capital One Arena and cheer on the Washington Wizards as they take on the Boston Celtics. Game starts at 8 p.m.

Friday, February 9

Winter Bike to Work Day: On Friday, February 9, BikeArlington invites you to bicycle your way to work on Winter Bike to Work Day (WBTWD). Visit the pit stop in Rosslyn (along the Custis Trail at the corner of Lynn Street and Lee Highway) for a morning cup of coffee, snacks and swag, and to mingle with fellow WBTWD riders. Register to ride (It’s free!). Invite your friends, colleagues, and family to join the fun.

Cabaret Rising: One Nation Underground: Can the Resistance rise from the Underground? And who will lead them if they can? D.C. theater company, TBD Immersive, kicks off its production of “Cabaret Rising: One Nation Underground” this Friday, February 9 at Dupont Underground. The restored space that lies beneath Washington, D.C.’s Dupont Circle will be transformed into a one-of-a-kind immersive theater where the decisions from the actors – and the guests – impact every aspect the show. “Cabaret Rising” ticket holders will experience a 360-degree sensory explosion of interacting with theatrical story lines while being immersed in a historic underground space. They will also have access to food and beverage specials at neighboring Dupont restaurants, Urbana and Firefly.

Special Olympics DC Polar Plunge at Nats Park: The Special Olympics DC Polar Plunge provides a fun, festive atmosphere with music, refreshments and parades of plungers in costume for all to enjoy. Pools are erected at Nationals Park, ready for all to take the plunge! Participants are encouraged to register as either individuals or join or create a team of family, friends or colleagues to inspire friendly competition and show your collective support for the athletes of Special Olympics DC!

Classic Pastas of Rome at Centrolina: On Saturday, February 10, chef Amy Brandwein leads a class highlighting heaping bowls of classic Roman comfort food, including tonnarelli cacio e pepe and rigatoni con la pajata. The hands-on lesson concludes with a family-style lunch of all the pastas. Ingredients are available for purchase to recreate the menu at home as well. The class is from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and tickets are $45 per person.

Benson Watch Private Shopping Experience: Benson Watch Company has recently been shelved in MGM Men's at MGM National Harbor. To celebrate, they are inviting you to be apart of an exclusive private shopping experience. They have curated sounds, cocktails, and light refreshments to ensure you have the ultimate experience.

Bey and Brunch: After a sold out Britney Spears-themed brunch in December, Commissary will host Beyoncé & Brunch from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This brunch honoring the iconic pop star will feature bottomless mimosas, bloody marys (which Commissary usually only does on Mondays), and bottomless spiked lemonade. Additionally, Commissary will serve Bey-themed brunch items and play her many unforgettable music videos and live performances on a full wall projector throughout the entirety of brunch. Guests are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Beyoncé, Jay-Z or Destiny's Child member. The best dressed in each category will win a prize.

Galentine’s Brunch at City Tap Dupont: Get together and catch up with gal pals the weekend before Valentine’s at a Galentine’s Brunch at City Tap Dupont. The restaurant will offer bottles of Riondo prosecco for $25 as well as its popular $18 bottomless mimosas, bellinis, beermosas, or Bloody Marys special and an a la carte brunch menu from 11 am to 3 pm. In a shoutout to some of pop culture’s most iconic gal pals, episodes of Sex and the City will play on City Tap Dupont’s TVs during the brunch.
