Weekend Report: 8 events not to miss this weekend

Thursday, July 27

Havana Nights Party at The Graham Georgetown: The Graham Georgetown will host its second Havana Nights party, on its rooftop from 6 to 10 p.m. The night will be filled with Cuban drinks and cuisine, hand-rolled cigars, Cuban music and even a domino tournament! So start the weekend early, and enjoy a night in Cuba!

Newseum Nights: Rock On: Grab your leather jacket, fishnets and favorite band tee, and head over to Newseum Nights: Rock On! The party lasts from 7:30 to 10 p.m., with an open beer and wine bar that will feature 80s-inspired cocktails all night, 80s makeovers in the GLAMSQUAD lounge, delicious “Americana” bites from Wolfgang Puck’s menu, a board game lounge, curator-led tours of the Newseum’s "Louder Than Words" exhibit and much more. Rock attire of the decade is encouraged and tickets are $60.

Friday, July 28

Jazz in the Garden: Jazz in the Garden takes place in the Sculpture Garden on the grounds of the National Gallery of Art. On Friday, July 28 enjoy music from the 3Divas. During jazz concerts, the Pavilion Café offers a special menu of creative American cuisine and refreshments, including a beer and wine menu.

LeAnn Rimes on The Plaza at Tysons Corner Center: Head out to the final summer concert at Tysons Corner Center. Get a front row seat to hear the vocal stylings of Grammy, AMA and CMA award winner, LeAnn Rimes in a free concert emceed by your favorite 94.7 Fresh FM Personalities! Admission is free until capacity so grab your friends, and get there early to grab a spot and enjoy a FREE summer concert!

National Dance Day at The Kennedy Center: Watch, learn, and dance at this community celebration of National Dance Day! Launched in 2010 by The Dizzy Feet Foundation (co-founded by So You Think You Can Dance’s Nigel Lythgoe and Adam Shankman) and Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, National Dance Day encourages Americans to embrace dance as a fun and positive way to maintain good health. This event is FREE and open to the public.

Barre & Brunch at Kapnos Taverna: Top fitness talent Chauna Bryant will set up shop on the restaurant's patio for an al fresco barre class fit for all levels, followed by all-you-can-eat brunch in the downstairs dining room. Guests should bring a mat, towel and water. The class and brunch are $40.

Ladies Night at Nationals Park: The Washington Nationals host a celebration for female fans. Tickets to this special night will get you access to an exclusive pregame panel discussion on women in baseball, a limited edition Washington Nationals Wine Charm, and (of course) seats to the ballgame! Ticket buyers will also have the opportunity to play some baseball trivia and win prizes.
