American Ballet Theatre: Kevin McKenzie's Swan Lake: American Ballet Theatre rekindles Washington's love affair with Kevin McKenzie's magnificent production of Tchaikovsky's classic ballet--a glorious fable of dreamlike transformation, mistaken identity, and ill-fated passion. Swan Lake remains the quintessential ballet, featuring breathtaking choreography. (January 25 - January 29)

The Pancakes and Booze Art Show: Pancakes and booze and art?? Where can we sign up?! Each show usually features between 50-150 local artisans, a unique lineup of live musicians and/or DJs, live painting, body painting, along with other forms of entertainment. Oh, and of course PANCAKES!

Friday, January 27

Washington Auto Show: The Washington Auto Show is also the largest public show in Washington, D.C. Along with the engineering prowess on display among the more than 600 new models from over 35 manufacturers, the 2017 show will feature VIP tours led by award-winning automotive writers and a special exhibit area for live painting of “art” cars.

Madewell Grand Opening on 14th Street: In celebration of the opening of Madewell on14th Street, they are hosting a pop-up craft market with The Lemon Bowl, a shared workspace for creatives. Go check out their handmade terrariums, weavings, prints and more. Enjoy sips, snacks and a complimentary Bien Fait Tote with any purchase all opening week plus a free pom-pom and card set by The Lemon Bowl during the pop-up market. (6 p.m. - 8 p.m.)

2017 Official March for Life: The March for Life Rally will take place at noon on the grounds of the Washington Monument, near the corner of 15th Street and Constitution Avenue. Following the Rally, the March will begin on Constitution Avenue between 15th and 17th Streets at approximately 1:00 pm.

Saturday, January 28

National Harbor Polar Bear Plunge: The annual “Keep Winter Cold” Polar Bear Plunge is the priority fundraising event, powering victories to move our region off of fossil fuels and to clean energy solutions. Each year, activists, friends, and families show their commitment to fight climate change by jumping in the icy Potomac River.

Canine Happy Hour: Seattle-based outdoors outfitter Filson is hosting a canine happy hour from Noon to 3 p.m. to benefit local nonprofit Humane Rescue Alliance. In addition to treats and refreshments for humans and pets alike, the HRA’s mobile pet adoption center, Adopt Force One, will be parked in front of Filson on 14th Street for those looking for a new best friend.
