Thursday, August 24

Summer Snow Globe Returns for a Second Weekend: This weekend, National Harbor and Peterson Companies will re-open the doors of Harbor Dome, a unique special events venue, and again bring winter to suburban Maryland with the National Harbor signature event Summer Snow Globe. Thursday night's performance lineup includes: Jarreau Williams from 7– 7:45p.m. and Little League Champs from 8-10p.m.

Friday, August 25

Jazz in the Garden: Jazz in the Garden takes place in the Sculpture Garden on the grounds of the National Gallery of Art. On Friday, August 25 enjoy the last Jazz in the Garden of the summer. During the concert, the Pavilion Café offers a special menu of creative American cuisine and refreshments, including a beer and wine menu.

Laurie Kilmartin at Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse: Laurie Kilmartin is a stand up comedian, late night writer and New York Times bestselling author. She has performed standup on Conan, Jimmy Kimmel Live and numerous shows on Comedy Central. Don't miss your chance to see her at Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse for two nights. (Aug 25 -26).

Maryland's Renaissance Festival: Check out this fun festival that takes place every year in Annapolis, Md. Fill your weekend with Renaissance themed artisans, performances, and delicious food!Oh, and don't forget to dress up!

Arena Stage’s FREE Community Day: From 12-6 p.m. enjoy free activities for all ages, including tastings from new restaurants on The Wharf, live music, dance performances, storytelling and poetry. There will also be a Costume Sale featuring items from historic Arena productions.

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue's Cat Adoption Event At Dogma Bakery: Join Lucky Dog from 3-5 p.m. at Dogma Bakery to meet some adorable and adoptable cats and kittens. Don't have all your supplies yet...no worries! Dogma has great products and they are happy to help you get ready to bring home your new family member.

Barre & Brunch at Kapnos Taverna: Top fitness talent Chauna Bryant will set up shop on the restaurant's patio for an al fresco barre class fit for all levels, followed by all-you-can-eat brunch in the downstairs dining room. Guests should bring a mat, towel and water. The class and brunch are $40.

Wags N' Whiskers: The region's most beloved pet festival is back! The 10th annual Village at Shirlington's Wags N' Whiskers will be held on Saturday, August 26 from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m., the open air shopping center will transform into a street festival for animal lovers and their pets! Celebrate National Dog Day by giving you furry friend the time of his or her life, and the chance to play with ALL the dogs.

Washington Nationals vs. New York Mets: We hear it's going to be a beautiful weekend! Head out to Nats Park to cheer on the Washington Nationals as they take on the New York Mets.
