Imaginary World of The Nutcracker: Discover the "Imaginary World of the Nutcracker!" Inspired by the original story and powered by the latest projection technology the new winter installation will whisk you away to a magical kingdom where the Nutcracker and other characters come to life via projections and ARTECHOUSE Augmented Reality app.

American Field Holiday Pop-Up Store in Old Town Alexandria: American Field, the platform for innovative and emerging brands will open doors to their first Holiday Pop-Up for the holiday season in Old Town Alexandria, VA. The AF Holiday Pop-Up will be located at 123 S. Fairfax St. Kicking off with a launch event on December 7th from 4-7pm and running through the New Year, the AF pop-up shop will feature brands including Abbott NYC (small batch cologne), Ball and Buck (heritage men's lifestyle brand), Bradley Mountain (luggage), Brothers Artisan Oil (grooming), Mill City Fineries (neckwear), Salazon Chocolate, Schon Design, Stonehill Design (vintage lighting), Story Dry Goods (leather goods), among other brands.

Friday, December 8

Drink the District Wine Festival: Mistletoe, merlot, and many other wines to enjoy will get just about anyone into the holiday spirit! Join Drink the District as they toast to the holidays and enjoy unlimited samples of more than 100+ wines. Saturday, December 9

MetroCooking DC: Headlining MetroCooking DC December 9-10 will be Food Network’s Guy Fieri and local favorite José Andrés. The region’s largest two-day culinary showcase will again take over DC’s Walter E. Washington Convention Center. This 12th edition of the event is organized by E.J. Krause & Associates. Show-goers may shop from aisles of specialty food products, including holiday gift options, experience live demos from James Beard honored chefs, participate in interactive workshops and attend book signings from authors from throughout the country. General admissions tickets are $21.50 in advance.

Sweet Hope Dessert for Toys Reception: Founded by the late Michel Richard and now in its 15th year, Central Michel Richard (1001 Pennsylvania Avenue NW) will host a free dessert reception to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on Saturday, December 9 from 1-3 pm. Complimentary admission is guaranteed with an unwrapped toy or monetary donation. Central’s new Executive Chef Tony Roussel and his team will serve several Central favorites including Michel’s Chocolate Bar, crème caramel, macaroons, Buche de Noel, and Richard’s famous ganache hot chocolate topped with marshmallows or whipped cream. An elf balloon artist will be on hand for children.

Sunday, December 10
