Blossom Kite Festival: The National Cherry Blossom Festival is kicking off kite season with the Blossom Kite Festival. This annual tradition showcases the creativity of kite makers and skill of fliers from across the US and other countries through a variety of competitions and demonstrations, Rokkaku Battles and the Hot Tricks Showdown. Free.

Wharf Phase 2 Kickoff: Phase two of Wharf construction will officially kick off this weekend with a slew of free community events. Come on out for a parade of construction vehicles, live music from "Pebble to Pearl" and "Batala Washington", a performance from the Amidon-Bowen Elementary School choir, a wine and beer garden, sidewalk games from DC Fray and a public street fair along Water Street. Mayor Muriel Bowser and Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton will both be in attendance. Free to attend.

Late Night at Daikaya: Stop by for some late night tantanmen ramen with spicy ground pork, bok choy, scallions, peanuts and chili oil, and Shochu (Japan's national spirit) drink specials starting at 10 p.m. Experiment with the spirit and try all three offerings (barley, green tea, and lemongrass) in various styles: neat, with hot water, in a cocktail, as a highball or on the rocks. Pups in the Park: Skip the dog park and come to Nationals Park for the first Pups in the Park of the season. Enjoy a special pregame parade so you can take your dog for a walk around the warning track, and then enjoy the rest of the game with other dogs and dog lovers from seats in the pet-friendly outfield reserved section. Tickets are $33 for humans and $10 for pups.
