Your December 2017 concert guide

Don't worry, we've already spent our rent money at The Anthem too. Here are all the shows worth checking out this month.

Week 1: December 1-8

1. Bon Iver
Okay, I'm going to make you feel old here - Skinny Love was released almost a decade ago. Since then, Justin Vernon's sound has gotten more experimental, but remains searing and goose bump-inducing.
Friday, Dec. 1 - The Anthem

2. Xavier Omär
Saturday, Dec. 2 - Songbyrd

3. Shinedown
Monday, Dec. 4 - Fillmore Silver Spring

4. The National
I'm going to be upfront about the fact that The National is my favorite band of all time. However, their reputation as being a bunch of sad indie dudes needs to be viewed with some skepticism. Their newest album, Sleep Well Beast, represents a major technical shift for the band's sound and tracks like I'll Still Destroy You positively glitter with newfound electronic influence. Frontman Matt Berninger is a force of nature on stage and this show will be worth breaking your bedtime for.
Tuesday, Dec. 5 - The Anthem

Thursday, Dec. 7 - Songbyrd
