Anyone who attended the Human Rights Campaign's 7th annual Chefs for Equality gala on October 9 and left hungry did something wrong! The Washington National Cathedral was awash in rainbow as it played host to hundreds of Washingtonians eager to show their support for the HRC Foundation and their mission of fighting for full LGBTQ equality. And show their support they did, as the event raised{ } more than$300,000 for the foundation, through ticket sales, a silent auction and a live auction. More than 120 of the DMV's top chefs and mixologists were on hand to do the "deliciously defiant" theme proud, serving up small bites (like foie gras macaroons and dan dan noodles in mini carryout containers) and cocktails to guests. The luckiest guests dined at private tables,{ }where celebrity chefs created lavish five-course paired meals. Back by popular demand, the "5/10/15 Speed Diner" ticket option allowed guests to purchase a seat at the intimate diner-style counters where they were treated to a specialty cocktail and a mini five-course tasting menu prepared by five pairs of renowned chefs. If you missed the fun, scroll through our photo gallery to get an insider's look! (Image:{ }Jeff Martin for Human Rights Campaign)
