The top 5 sushi happy hours in D.C.

If you are craving quality sushi, but don’t want to spend a ton of money, a good sushi happy hour is all you need. Luckily, we have plenty of great happy hour sushi deals to satisfy that craving. Check out some of our favorites.

Momiji

This Chinatown spot is nothing fancy but has solid sushi, and great happy hour specials. $4 for regular rolls such as tuna, salmon, blue crab, etc and $9 for their specialty rolls get you fresh sushi that is hard to beat. It’s definitely an American style sushi place, so expect to see a lot of interesting combinations on the specialty rolls. The Valentine roll with shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, and avocado is a fan favorite – and comes in heart shaped pieces! Happy hour goes from 3-6:30 p.m. Monday-Friday so take advantage of the food and drink specials!

Sushi Taro

Sushi Taro’s high quality sushi is offered at half price during happy hour from 5:30-7 p.m., along with half off drink specials as well. The caveat is that the deal is offered only at the bar, which seats 11 people. That being said, it is absolutely worth waiting in line a bit earlier to get one of those coveted seats and go to sushi heaven. Anything available is fantastic, but some favorites are the toro, unagi, and the tamago. Go get in line NOW!

Sakerum

At their Sake Hour, you can choose from options such as the California roll, spicy tuna and cucumber, unagi avocado, and more, along with wine, beer, sake, or rail drinks. Both drinks and food are $5 per option, which makes it one of the best HH deals for the busy 14th street corridor. Best part? Happy hour goes from 5:30-7:30 p.m. M-F, 3-6:30 p.m. Sat and Sunday, and ALL DAY Wednesday! Say what?!!

Sushiko

A great way to try this Chevy Chase restaurant if you are not quite ready to splurge on the omakase tasting menu is at their happy hour. Hand rolls for $5 and drink specials are available at the bar every day from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. The happy hour sushi options include crunchy spicy tuna, salmon avocado, shrimp tempura and more. They also have some killer Brussel sprouts!

Rakuya

I’m a huge fan of this Dupont Circle spot after their recent renovation. Their have a variety of nigiri and sushi rolls on HH, ranging from $4 -$10, with plenty of options at all price points. The sushi and sashimi are all fresh and fairly priced, and along with $4 beers and other drink deals, it makes for an inexpensive and delicious evening.
