Bucketfeet teams up with local artists for D.C. inspired shoe

Washingtonians! Are your feet ready for some exciting news?!

Bucketfeet, the Chicago-based footwear brand which opened their first D.C. brick-and-mortar store this summer will release a limited edition D.C. inspired shoe on Friday, December 9. (Yes, we said it, a shoe created just for you!)

Bucketfeet in collaboration with No Kings Collective, an agency based out of the District that is composed of and run by local artists, have produced only 240 pairs of the slip-on sneaker called the "7s." The sneakers will be available at the D.C. Bucketfeet store (1924 8th Street, NW) and online at www.bucketfeet.com.

The sneakers will feature a D.C.-centric collage of famous images, including the Washington Monument, the D.C. flag, and chicken wings drenched in local favorite mumbo sauce. The shoes also have a special insole with the No Kings Collective motto: “Hustle Hard."

“In the short time that we’ve been in D.C., we already feel like solid members of this amazing community, so partnering with Brandon Hill and Peter Chang at No Kings Collective was a no-brainer for us,” says Bucketfeet co-founder and CEO Raaja Nemani. “They’re doing big things here and have such an infectious enthusiasm for their city. We’re thrilled to be on this journey together.”

No Kings Collective serves a community of area artists, businesses and city organizations through social networking events, exhibits and special projects. Over the last five years, No Kings Collective has gained local and national recognition for flash art exhibitions and temporary gallery spaces, providing new and exciting social events to promote a thriving art community in the nation's capital.

“Bucketfeet’s vision and mission align with so many of the ideas and values we hold dear as artists and creators,” said Hill. “This is truly a dream collaboration and we can’t wait to see Washingtonians walking across the city — and the world — in our new shoes!”

The sneakers will be available in both men's and women's sizes and retail for $65. Make sure to get your hands on a pair before they go! And trust us, your feet will be so happy.
