Has your social calendar been flooded with holiday party after holiday party? Do you have the perfect LBD to wear to all the parties, but always struggle with how to style your hair?
Normally I just opt for up in a bun or down with some curls, but that gets boring after a while! So I turned to the professionals to get some tips for styling fabulous holiday hair.
Eunice Kim is a stylist at Progressions Salon & Spa in Rockville, Maryland and she shared her holiday hair do's and don'ts with us! So throw that boring bun to the side and show up to your party looking fab with these helpful hints:
Do Carry Hairspray:
Keep a purse sized hairspray to touch up throughout the night.
Do Opt for a Hair Treatment:
The cold, dry weather is more damaging to your hair than you might think, so adding moisture with a treatment will keep your hair looking great throughout these cold months.
Do Be Yourself:
If you have a more simple style, go for something like loose beachy waves or a coiffed pony.
Do Add Some Accessories:
You can never go wrong with a small sparkly hair pin or clip.
Don’t Go Without a Heat Protectant:
Whether you are smoothing your hair with a flat iron or adding curls with a curling iron or wand, don’t forget to protect it against that heat! Using a heat protectant like Nectar Thermique from Kérastase will minimize breakage and add shine.
Don’t Let Frizz Ruin Your Look:
Products like R+Co Foil or Oribe’s Impermeable will stop frizz in its tracks and keep your style looking smooth all evening.
Don’t Let Your Roots Get You Down:
Even if you can’t get in with your stylist in time, products like Oribe Airbrush Root Touch-Up Spray can cover up any unwanted roots in an instant.
Don’t Wear a Hat for Too Long in the Evening:
This definitely has the potential to mess up your ‘do!
