Lani Furbank is a freelance food writer who loves stories that meet at the intersection of food, farming, and the environment. She was born and raised in the D.C. area, but stays true to her Welsh-Taiwanese heritage by exploring new places and experimenting with recipes from around the world.

Her various adventures have landed her on a milking stool in a barn in the Shenandoah Valley, at the top of a volcano in Costa Rica, and in a rainforest making friends with orangutans in Indonesia. When she's not writingor traveling, you can find her stocking up on heirloom tomatoes at the farmers market, backpacking in the mountains, or taking up new homesteading hobbies like cheese-making and canning.
