Luther Weber is an incredible architect based out of the Washington, D.C. area. He has worked on a range of projects from commercial and institutional to residential. In this gallery we highlight a project Weber worked on in Arlington, Va. He added a contemporary addition onto a 1960's home that opened up the floor plan and made the space more livable. The new addition has an expansive amount of insulated glass with a butt glazed corner facing southeast. Aluminum sunscreens shade the interior during the summer month.
The dark framed windows are operable and arranged for ventilation. (Hoachlander Davis Photography)
The sunroom on the left side is made of stained wood panels with removable inserts allowing the owner to switch between screen and glass with the seasons. Active solar panels mounted on the roof heat the domestic water supply. (Hoachlander Davis Photography)
The new kitchen is moved closer to the rear of the house and opened up to the view and light allowing visual contact with the new dining room, living room, and adjacent TV palor.
