Restart and recharge with a wellness package getaway

Let’s face it, when January comes around we all want to hit that restart button. Maybe it’s to exercise more, perhaps eat better, or be empowered. But with this cold weather, I know I’d much rather pull the covers over my head, stay in bed and reemerge when spring comes.

I can’t think of a better way to get out of this winter funk and jump start those good intentions than combining a wellness package with a weekend getaway.

So take a weekend away and hit up one of these wonderful wellness getaways!

Hotel Indigo

There’s a new player in Old Town, the Hotel Indigo, the first and only waterfront hotel in Old Town, Alexandria. From now until March 31, the hotel is offering the “Refresh + Recharge” weekend package for two. To start you off right, you’ll find in your room a spa box including lotion, soap, a face mask, and lavender sachet, from truly-life, an eco skin care company. And if you’ve thought about trying a yoga or Barre class or just taking a class at a different studio than your home one, now is your chance. During your stay you’ll have a choice of attending a one-hour class at Barre3 Old Town or Refresh Yoga Center. For an additional charge you can schedule an in-room massage. In the morning enjoy a wholesome, healthy breakfast including cold pressed juice, an egg white frittata, and quinoa, from James Beard Award nominee Chef Cathal Armstrong’s Hummingbird restaurant.

Fairmont

The Fairmont Hotel in Georgetown is offering a Fitness Resolution Package through February 28. You will enjoy luxurious accommodations for two, unlimited fitness classes (Pound, Balance Barre, Balance Rhythm Ride, Fire Vinyasa Yoga and more) in its on-site Balance Gym, and receive healthy amenities including power bars, fresh fruit, and bottled water. There is also an indoor saltwater pool, to add to your fitness regime. In addition there is a sauna, a whirlpool, and a steam room. If you want to run outside, maps of suggested trails are at the concierge desk.

Salamander Resort & Spa

The Salamander Women’s Wellness Weekend, March 2 through 4, allows you to dive deeper into understanding the self, how to find the balance of masculine/feminine within yourself, learn how to put self-care as a priority, and connect with other women to create a powerful support system. It’s all centered around Yoga’s sister-science, Ayurveda, and its three elements: Earth, Fire and Air. There are four sessions. You can come for one or all four, and think about staying at this luxury resort and enjoying all the luxury amenities.

The Omni Bedford Springs Resort is offering the Eternal Indulgence Package. It includes luxurious accommodations, Art of Breakfast, three-course dinner and a $100 credit, per day. You can use your $100 credit for the spa and different activities. Schedule a private Meditative Hike where the guide will take you to some of the loveliest and most peaceful places and provide you with practical ways to bring mindfulness and meditation into your daily life. Weather permitting, the Omni Bedford Springs Resort offers miles of mountain biking as well as Cannondale bikes and equipment. Looking for a more relaxed ride? Enjoy a ride on the roads around the resort or a ride into downtown Bedford. The 1905 heated indoor pool is ideal for getting in some laps. And its Springs Eternal Spa, a 30,000-squarefoot destination spa utilizes natural spring water in all of its treatments. The spa’s treatments are inspired by the resort’s eight mineral springs, first used by the local Native Americans for their healing properties.

Nemacolin Woodland Resort

Want a mountain retreat? Remember Nemacolin, where the Bachelorette was filmed? This February 18-22 they are offering “February Fitness Adventure.” The retreat will focus on health, fitness, and fun throughout the resort’s 2,000-acres. And it’s all hosted by Health Lifestyle Coach and Nutritionist, Danielle Fryer, who works with the untrained to collegiate athletes. But don’t worry, her mission is to share what she knows about movement and food science with compassion, understanding and fun. The package includes overnight accommodations, breakfast each morning, 2-3 group fitness sessions per day, and a 90-minute nutrition workshop. You’ll also have the opportunity to book one-on-one sessions for an extra charge.
