Take a cruise on the Potomac with your pooch

If you're anything like me (and because I obsessively read our Google Analytics stats every day, I know many of you are!) you are constantly trying to find ways to incorporate more Fido in your life. Whether you are a dog owner looking for creative ways to spend time with your four-legged loves or you are just a dog-lover whose life motto is #GimmeAllTheDogs, the Potomac Riverboat Company is launching a cruise you need to know about!

Back by popular demand, the river cruise company is bringing back their Canine Cruises for 10 cruises now through October, including a special cruise to celebrate National Dog Day on August 26. The 45-minute dog-friendly sightseeing cruises start in Alexandria and explore historic landmarks along the waterfront. Tasty treats will be served for the pups.

2018 Canine Cruise Schedule

  • May 19 11:00 a.m.
  • June 9 11:00 a.m.
  • June 23 11:00 a.m.
  • July 21 11:00 a.m.
  • August 18 11:00 a.m.
  • August 26 11:00 a.m.
  • September 15 11:00 a.m.
  • September 29 11:00 a.m.
  • October 26 6:30 p.m and 8:00 p.m.

All breeds are welcome, providing they are well behaved. For the duration of the cruise, dogs must remain on a six-foot non-retractable leash. For safety reasons, one dog is permitted per passenger. Cruise tickets start at $18 for anyone over the age of 12, $12 for kids ages 2-11 and pups and children under the age of 2 ride for free. See more information here.
