Tim's Travel Deals: Washington to Rome, Maui or Cairo on sale now

Spring season is a great time to travel, and this month there are plenty of airfare and hotel deals to get you to your next vacation. Washington, D.C. will also welcome a few new flight routes this spring to exciting and far-flung destinations, like Rome and Cairo.

Plus, there are plenty of weekend travel specials to take advantage of, whether it’s a staycation or quick weekend road trip. So what are you waiting for? Go on and get booking!

Charleston on the cheap. The South’s food capital, Charleston, South Carolina is a steal this spring if you have flexible travel dates. Right now, JetBlue has a $59 one-way offer for dates in April, May, and June.

Weekend with the Obama family? Martha’s Vineyard is a notorious destination for ritzy beach lovers, and it’s the vacation destination of choice for the Obamas. The family has been known to visit in late June. If you want to spot them this summer, try booking this nonstop round-trip flight on American Airlines for $271 round-trip.

Nonstop to Rome with Alitalia. Next month, Alitalia will open a new nonstop route from Dulles to Rome, and to welcome in this new flight, the airline is offering summer-saver fares for less than $950 round-trip.

Egypt under $500 one way. EgyptAir is another new flight route coming to Dulles this June. The nonstop flight service gets you to Cairo in about 10 hours and if you book now, there are economy fares going for less than $500 one way, making this an easy adventure for budget flyers.

Maui in May. It’s arguably the most beautiful island in Hawaii, and right now, Maui is on sale courtesy of United. The Flight Deal has all the details on how to book a ticket for $465 round-trip in mid-May, but hurry, this deal won’t last!

Camp out with the Little Sesame crew. Want to go on an outdoor adventure with the crew from the hummus shop Little Sesame?
