When your job literally has "D.C." in the title, there aren't always a lot of opportunities to escape the east coast and travel, at least for work purposes! So when an opportunity arises to jaunt on over to the other coast and explore for the good of my readers, I'm going to jump on it. And when Frontier Airlines announced new direct flights from Colorado Springs to five cities, with Washington, D.C. being one of them, I just knew I had to check it out ... you know, in the name of research.

The timing couldn't have been better, considering the gorgeous Broadmoor, a AAA five-star adventure resort, just so happens to be turning 100 next year, and has quite the birthday plans to share with visitors. With its 5,000 acres, wilderness experiences, fly fishing camps, iconic golf courses, a private gorge with waterfalls, and even a railway to the stars (Pikes Peak), it has long been a gateway for travelers to experience the American West.
The good folks at the Broadmoor have some wonderful things planned for me, but Washingtonians, I want to hear from you! Is there somewhere in Colorado Springs I HAVE to see/visit/eat at when I'm there? Let me know!
I'll be documenting the whole journey on DC Refined's Instagram, so follow along and comment with suggestions pretty please! Thanks all!
