This 5-bedroom/7 bath Colonial in Belle Haven may not be on the market any longer (it sold for $1,975,000 on July 31) but it sure is fun to look at! (Image: Courtesy McEnearney Associates)

This 1935 colonial has a 2,500-bottle wine cellar and the loft office of our dreams

Ok, we have to admit that we have a bit of a real estate addiction round these parts. Several times a day we find ourselves perusing Redfin or Estately, and of course we tell ourselves it's in the name of research -- you know, alerting you lovelies to awesome real estate discoveries -- but if we're being real, it satisfies an itch for us, too! Typically we come across houses that are still on the market (but totally out of our reach!), but every once in a while we stumble on a listing that has sold and hasn't quite been taken down off the website yet. And then we experience a whole different range of emotions: sheer jealousy followed by curiosity as to who the lucky bidding war winner was for the slice of real estate heaven we happen to be coveting. And that is where we find ourselves today as we ogle this stunning 1935 Colonial in Belle Haven, Alexandria -- a neighborhood well known for its exquisitely charming and jealousy-inducing properties.

The circular driveway drew me in, the library had me chomping at the bit and then the loft office had me saying "WHY NOT ME???" Everything from the paneled walls and vaulted ceilings to the recessed lighting, that family room with cork flooring and walls and (of course) the adorable wine cellar checked all of my dream boxes, so I had to share it with you all today so that someone else could wallow in my sorrow of missing out on this beaut -- there's safety in numbers, right?
